报告题目:Verifiable Delegation of Computing over Outsourced Encrypted Data

报告摘要

Cloud Computing, while promising, brings a new range of security problems. One class of the problems are rooted in that the cloud vendors are untrusted, meaning that they can be malicious by birth or become malicious after being compromised. In order to deal with such threats,the data outsourced to clouds are ought to be encrypted. This however introduces another difficult problem: How can the cloud users trust the output of some computing tasks that are conducted by an untrusted cloud over their outsourced encrypted data (“delegation of computing”)?

In this talk, we discuss two problems of this kind:

(1) How can a data owner grant data users keyword search capability over its outsourced encrypted data in the cloud according to an access control policy, while able to hold a dishonest cloud accountable?

(2) How can database queriers assure that the cloud faithfully executed SQL queries over encrypted database?

The talk is based on joint works with Giuseppe Ateniese and Qingji Zheng.

报告人简介

Dr. Shouhuai Xu is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science,University of Texas at San Antonio.His research is primarily in making cyberspace more secure and trustworthy.He is especially interested in mathematical and statistical modeling and analysis of cyber security, and devising practical security mechanisms including provably-secure cryptographic protocols.

His research has been funded by AFOSR, ARO, NSF and ONR.

He co-initiated the ACM STC workshop in 2006 and served as Program committee co-chair in 2006 and 2007. He was also Program Committee co-chair for ACM AsiaPKC'13.He is Program Committee co-chair for Inscrypt'13. He has served on the Program Committees of 60+ international conferences and workshops.

He is an Associate Editor ofIEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (IEEE TDSC CCF-A), and of International Journal of Security and Networks (IJSN).He earned his PhD in Computer Science from Fudan University.
